What is a Dye Journal?
A dyeing journal is simply a notebook or workbook page for recording the details of your dyeing experiments.
This is a perfect way to keep track of what kind of fabric you are dyeing, which mordant technique you used, how long you heated the dyebath and more.
You get both the Portrait and Landscape versions:
PORTRAIT:
See your entire project easily at a glance with this full page version. You can hole punch your pages in the left margin and file them in a ring binder for easy recordkeeping.
LANDSCAPE:
The landscape version of the dye journal is more compact but also offers a larger notes section which gives you space for all of the specific dye specs you wish to record.
This dye journal lets you track:
- Fabric, dye and mordant specs
- Dye project objective
- Tools and supplies needed
- Individual paragraph space for each step
- Ample lines for notes
- Space for fabric sample swatches
- Dye samples record keeping
- Results overview
Never again forget which mordant or modifier you used!
You do this, right? Your latest dye project turned our GREAT! Your thrifted blouse took the Queen Anne’s Lace dye beautifully and you want to dye a scarf to match.
Did you use iron? Did you mordant with Alum alone or did you remember to drop it in a tannin bath as well? Well NO MORE FORGETTING when you write it down as you go!
