The kind of paint you need for craft pumpkins depends on the material they are made of.

If the pumpkin is plastic (like the Halloween buckets the kids carry for Trick Or Treating), then you need acrylic paints. If they are make of wood, you need a wood primer and then you can use acrylic paint.
