For Christmas last year, our family decided to have more fun and craft, make our presents instead of spending tons of money on crap nobody needs anyway.
My sweet Mama gave me a pair of knitted dishcloths disguised as cute little bloomers!
Wish I had a pattern for you guys …I do not, but it’s pretty straightforward knitting with a bit of crochet. I also wish I knew who came up with this idea so I can give credit. If you know, please tell me!
Well, since I don’t have an actual pattern, I’ll just break it down for you the best I can.
Supplies needed:
Cotton yarn
Needles (size 4 or 5 maybe?)
Crochet hook (for the edges)
Ribbon
The bloomer pants consists of two rectangular shaped knitted pieces. Each is about 9 1/2″ x 8″, including the crocheted edge. They were knitted diagonally as you can see in the photo.
Finish:
Crochet the edge, thread the ribbon for the ‘belt’ and the ‘cuffs’ of the bloomers and tie together.
There was a little poem attached:
How sweet is that?? Knitted dishcloths turned to bloomers. My dishcloths get pretty grubby so I will not be using them for that. Haven’t quite decided what to do with it yet.
If I can score the pattern from my Mama, I’ll let you know.
What fun, homemade gifts did you get this year?
