25 Creative home decor fall crafts you can make with all purpose burlap fabric and ribbon
Seems like burlap fabric and ribbon are just about everywhere nowadays. And with good reason! It is versatile, inexpensive and a great fabric for adding rustic, farmhouse touches to your home decor.
What used to be a cheap, rough and ugly fabric only used for feedbags has become chic in the crafting and decorating world.
Today, you can even find ‘designer’ burlap in all colors and sizes, including camo! As I said, it is still a fairly inexpensive material though, which makes burlap a great choice for lots of different craft and home DIY projects.
Plus, there is something about burlap ribbon that makes me think of Fall and Autumn decorating for Thanksgiving. I like the rustic feel it gives to a table setting.
I surfed the internet and found 25 really cool fall craft projects using burlap either in fabric or ribbon form.
You are going to fall in love with the patriotic, American flag pillow! (That one might be my favorite).
There is also a fun, whimsical Fall Wreath, Pumpkins, Thanksgiving Place Cards and a table placemat (another favorite idea) that would be super quick to make for your Thanksgiving decor.
Plus, if you are into making your own handmade DIY gifts, you will really like the Flower Greeting Card and Kid’s Handprint Craft (that one would be a great DIY gift for Grandparents).
Update: Since I published this a few years ago, a few of the links are no longer valid. So, I found some substitute crafts with burlap fabric for you.

Is Burlap Washable?
The short answer is Yes, burlap is washable. However, it does take a little bit of special care to wash burlap correctly.
Since it is a very loosely woven fabric, burlap can easily fall apart. Here is a great article from wikiHow on how to wash burlap fabric correctly.
How do you decorate burlap?
As you can see from the cool crafts listed above, burlap is super versatile and can be decorated a number of different ways.
Acrylic paints work very well on burlap either in spray paint form or when applied with a brush.
Since it is a very open fabric, you can also easily sew on your decorations or weave them through the fibers.
